I recently spent 3 wonderful days/nights at Canyon Ranch in Lenox Massachusetts.The resort/spa is situated on beautiful wooded land, within walking distance of Lenox, a small, lovely town with art galleries, boutique shops and fine restaurant choices. Tanglewood Music Festival is a must to visit in the summer being only a few minutes drive from Canyon Ranch.  

The  wooded trails and trees were a bit snow covered and absolutely beautiful to walk through as I did a trail walk and a pole walk with well informed guides and small groups of guests who were excited to be outdoors in the fresh air surrounded by trees, sculptures and history of the area.

The interior of the hotel is lovely with easy access to all areas. You do not need to ever walk outside if you wish not to as everything is connected. The rooms are large and comfortable. Each guest is given a tote bag and great hot/cold water bottle on check in along with their itinerary of activities and treatments.

The dining room is bright and inviting with different size tables that range from 1-6 chairs and banquettes and people dine alone or with friends.There is a salad bar at each meal with a selection of greens, crackers, vegetables, dips, hummus, fruits and nuts.The food is well presented and quite flavorful with creative selections of meats to fish to chicken each day including gluten free choices. Additionally, there is a small grab & go with a nice selection of coffees/teas, smoothies and healthy snacks.

The work out rooms are well equipped, sunlit and there are many activities to try from easy classes to more challenging ones.There are morning stretch and sun salutation classes, beginning to advanced yoga and pilates classes, weight training, drumming and more.For those wanting more meditative experiences, there are meditative yoga and mindfulness classes including workshops on the practice of gratitude and emotional healing. There is evening “old school” bingo and music presentations to end the day. Guests can enjoy cooking demonstrations, art and jewelry making classes and workshops.

The spa is huge being 100,000 sq ft. Spa treatments range from facials, to many different massages and reflexology. The technicians that I experienced were knowledgeable and expert in their techniques.There are 2 hot tubs and a quiet area to wait for your treatment.The lockers use smart wristband access and the showers and changing area is very nice, indeed. While I did not use, the medical facilities were impressive with many options for care with a trained medical staff. And there are 2 indoor pickleball and tennis courts as well as a squash court. The staff is helpful courteous and kind.

In review, Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts would appeal to the upscale, Northeast traveler (whether traveling solo, in couples or with a group of girlfriends/guys) who is interested in health and well-being of the body, mind and soul! There are many repeat guests and everyone appeared to be content and eager to be at Canyon Ranch!
