Ah, Portugal... a country that is known for its rich history, incredible vineyards, colorful architecture, and dramatic coastlines. Recently, I was fortunate enough to be able to visit this remarkable destination for the first time, and found my experience to be everything I hoped it would be and so much more. I hope you enjoy reading a little about my trip below, and as always, please reach out if you're inspired to experience this unique and flavorful country.
HOTEL PALÁCIO ESTORILESTORIL, PORTUGALLocated just twenty minutes from the center of Lisbon, a highlight of my trip was wandering around the charming small towns of Setúbal, Cascais, Estoril, and Comporta. The little shops, hidden restaurants, clean markets, and gorgeous private beaches paired with an absence of tourists made this area feel like a best-kept secret.Additionally, I had the opportunity to tour the area of Cabo Da Roca - the Westernmost point of Europe, and also explored Sintra Cascais National Park in a classic vintage car. This was such a fun experience, and I greatly enjoyed the wind in my hair while witnessing breathtaking views. I also created my own colorful handpainted tile which was the perfect souvenir to commemorate my time in Portugal.I stayed at the historic Hotel Palácio Estoril Hotel, pictured above, which has hosted royalty, emperors, politicians, and many celebrities. This 5-star property was a prominent film location in the 1969 James Bond movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and is set in beautiful gardens and offers spectacular views over Estoril and the Bay of Cascais.
CASA PALMELASETUBAL, PORTUGALIn Setúbal, I stayed at a lovely family-owned property called Casa Palmela, pictured above, that overlooks the Arrábida Mountains and vineyards. I enjoyed a welcome lunch at a nearby vineyard which was such an impeccable culinary experience! This is a property I highly recommend experiencing. As with anywhere, it's the people who make all the difference, and everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
PORTO, PORTUGALSO MUCH TO EXPLORE!Lastly, I traveled north to Porto, which was so completely different from what I had experienced yet. I found it to be so luscious and green. There, I went on a port wine tour and enjoyed a cruise along the Douro River. The town of Porto is very hilly and beautiful. You can choose to walk all over the city or opt to catch a ride on the yellow trolleys. Each street smelled of the different dishes being prepared in backyards!Overall, my time in Portugal was incredible. The white sand beaches are truly spectacular and I especially loved the day I spent sailing on the Atlantic and watching the dolphins swim by. I think my favorite part of the trip was the food! I feel like I tasted every type of seafood and everything was so fresh and delicious. If you're inspired to visit, allow me to design an unforgettable getaway, complete with private perks and unparalleled industry connections.
