Experiencing an outer island in Fiji captures a magical feeling you won’t find anywhere else in the world.  I have been fortunate to travel to Fiji on many occasions to explore these remote destinations. One of my favorite outer islands is Kadavu, located south of the main island in close proximity to the Great Astrolabe Reef (one of the world’s largest barrier reefs). I recommend staying at Kokomo Private Island resort on Yaukuve Levu Island- a personal favorite of mine. Another incredible outer island is Vanua Levu, which is northwest of the main island. I particularly loved the area of Savusavu. Here you'll find the Jean Michel Cousteau Resort, a five star property with the atmosphere of a small eco resort and all the desired amenities. It's ideal for both couples and families.
